Manchester United sign 5 new players
With their eyes already in the future, manchester united have reportedly signed five young Huddersfield players after the Yorkshire side scrapped a raft of academy teams.
Huddersfield have opted to disband all of their youth sides from the age of Under-16s down, leaving a host young players available.
United gave trials to a number of them and, according to a report in The Mail, five have now signed contracts to become part of Nicky Butt ‘s Reds programme.
The new signings have been given the option of continuing their education in Yorkshire or switching to a the United-affiliated Ashton-on-Mersey School.
United are said to have been quick off the mark to claim the cream of the crop.
Two of the players affected by Huddersfield’s had recently earned England Under-16 call-ups.
Other Premier League clubs have also been quick to take advantage of players’ availability.
